I Love Logos. But I Love Something Else More…
I genuinely love good logos and thoughtful design.
I appreciate the simplicity of a well-crafted identity. The balance of typography. The restraint of good layout. The way strong design can bring clarity, professionalism, and consistency to an organisation.
Design matters.
A logo is often the first visual expression of an organisation’s story. It helps shape recognition, creates familiarity, and communicates something about personality and direction before a single word is spoken.
But over the years, I have also come to believe that the strongest brands are not built on design alone.
What matters most is what the design is actually saying.
A beautiful logo cannot compensate for unclear purpose. A polished website cannot carry a confused message forever. Eventually, people begin asking deeper questions:
Who are these people really? What do they stand for? Why does their work matter? Can I trust them?
That is why I have always believed good design should support clarity, not distract from it.
When organisations are clear about their story, their values, and the purpose behind their work, design becomes far more meaningful. The logo is no longer just decoration. It becomes a visual expression of something real.
Paul Rand, one of the great logo designers, once said:
“Design is the silent ambassador of your brand.”
I think that captures something important.
Good design quietly reinforces trust. It helps tell the story consistently and clearly. But the story itself still matters most.
I love logos. I love design.
But most of all, I love when organisations are able to communicate who they truly are with honesty, clarity, and confidence.
“The strongest logos are not just visually memorable. They express something true about the story behind the organisation.”
